My younger son, Jeremy, is the father of two sons, Leo and Grady, who are now adults (pretty much). One, is a brand-new college grad, the other entering his sophomore year in college. I adore them.

Jeremy’s brother Seth has been a doting uncle throughout their lives. A week ago, that uncle, age 56, became a father himself. And I have a brand new grandson.

Jacob is his name, and he lives far away in Brazil, but he is, and always will be close in my heart.

Brazil is far away, at best a 10-hour flight. You can be sure I will be on one before too long…
