Peter and I were avid classical music concert-goers with seasons tickets to the Handel & Haydn Society and frequent visits to other concerts. Our older son used to refer to us as his “classical music-loving parents.”
So it was with mixed emotions that I attended a concert of crowd-pleasing classical music by Boston’s Civic Symphony Orchestra on Sunday. By chance, the seat next to mine was empty. I thought it was quite a coincidence since I had never been in that concert hall without Peter.
He would have loved it.
