The adjustment to my new life continues.  For decades, I was able to go to a grocery store, the cleaners, or the post office by foot.  But although only 10-15 minutes by car, there is no retail establishment of any kind that is walkable from my new “home”.

That’s why when I needed to wash my comforter the other day, Google maps had to find me a laundromat. Honestly, it’s probably been 55 or 60 years since I’ve visited such an establishment, and except for the number of quarters needed to do a load of wash, it was exactly the same as in olden days.

I was a little leery since I was the only person amongst row after row of washers and dryers, but I and my book were just fine.

Unfortunately, I got lost on the way home and had to resort to Google maps again.

But I have a sparkling clean comforter.

Mission accomplished.

Such a dreaded chore! I think I have decided to go with a duvet cover soon. Even though they are a pain to take off and put on, at least it would help avoid taking the comforter to the laundromat.
